Pastor Dave came to us from Messiah Lutheran in Joliet, IL where he served in several pastoral roles over 18 years of ministry in Chicagoland. He’s originally from a northern suburb of Detroit, Michigan where he served as the youth pastor of North Pointe for 7 ½ years. (But his wife jokes that he’s a native Floridian as he loves the South so much.)
Bible is now the 4th church he has served in his nearly 30 years of ministry. Pastor Dave was an Executive Chef and small business owner before God “once again called him to ministry.” Pastor Dave says that he considers North Pointe and Messiah to be, “just the beginning,” and plans on being here at Bible until the Good Lord calls him home or Jesus returns! Whichever comes first.
“Ministry is about relationships, and it takes time to build those relationships, so I cherish them and strive to hold them together for a long time. Thank you for giving me the privilege to help you and your children know Christ and make Him an important part of your lives, now and in the future.” -Pastor Dave Stier
Dave came to Bible with his lovely wife Dana, son Alexei, and his mother-in-law Diane Anderson.
Pastor Dave and Dana are additionally blessed with two adult age sons (Davey & Nikolai) born 10 months and 1 day apart, a lovely daughter-in-law (Kersten) and two beautiful grand babies (Lyra & Eowyn), whom they want Y’all to be praying for the good Lord to bring to Effingham along with his elderly parents Harold & Donna.
Pastor Dave and Dana enjoy getting out on the open road on their motorcycle. Camping, fishing, watching Lions football,
U of M (the 2024 national champs!) football, and Red Wings Hockey.
