Leslie Dickerson presently serves as the Director of Children and Youth at Bible Lutheran Church. Although she was born under the Blue Moon of Kentucky, she has been in Effingham County since 1972. After graduating from Effingham County High School in 1986, she became a Georgia Southern University Eagle. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, and they were blessed with a son. She is an avid Georgia Southern University football fan, enjoys camping, taking care of her animals, and working with people of all ages.
She accepted Jesus as her savior and was baptized at the age of 9. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education, a Master Degree of Educational Leadership from Georgia Southern University, and a Six Year Degree in Teacher and Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. Although she is a retired Principal from the Effingham County Board of Education, she continues to maintain all certifications required for the State of Georgia to teach and serve in leadership positions. She is passionate about assisting young people in developing their faith and is committed to working with them. For the last thirty years, she has worked with youngsters as a parent and as an educator in a variety of capacities and a variety of settings. Young people are encountering so many difficulties as they grow up and the role the Church plays and the need for Jesus Christ in their lives is essential. Creating a welcoming environment where young people can learn how much God loves them, study the Bible, and get answers to questions for life application can make a life impact on a young person. Her hope is to share her Faith, knowledge, and enthusiasm with the children and youth of Bible Lutheran Church with direction and encouragement they need to follow Jesus Christ! |
